Volunteers Needed for Superintendent Finalists Interview Teams

The Steamboat Springs School District is seeking volunteers to participate in the interview process for finalists for the position of Superintendent of Schools. Selected participants will serve on an interview team and provide feedback to the Board of Education following each finalist interview.

Preschool and Kindergarten Registration Now Open 

Registration is now open for preschool and kindergarten for the 2026–2027 school year in the Steamboat Springs School District. Families with children starting preschool or kindergarten next fall are encouraged to begin the process as soon as possible. Additionally, new families can register a child, current families can add a new student, and families with students currently enrolled can complete their annual update online.

At the February 9 Board of Education meeting, Superintendent Dr. Celine Wicks announced the District’s decision to end its partnership with Rural Homes while reaffirming the District’s continued commitment to developing staff housing on the Sleeping Giant parcel. Concerns about project timelines and cost certainty led to the decision to reassess next steps.
