Superintendent's Corner

Kristin Drury has served as Superintendent of the Steamboat Springs School District since July 2026. Drury brings 34 years of experience in public education to her role. 

Prior to joining the district, she served as Executive Director of Schools in Douglas County School District, where she provided leadership and support for 16,000 PK–12 students across 19 schools in the Parker region. In that role, she helped implement systems that supported strong student achievement, academic growth, and students' social and emotional well-being.

Throughout her career, Kristin has served as a teacher, instructional coach, district professional development coordinator, high school administrator, and elementary principal, during which she led her school to receive the Governor's Distinguished Growth Award. This breadth of experience provides her with a comprehensive understanding of teaching and learning at every level. She is committed to developing strong leaders, fostering collaborative decision-making, maintaining a visible presence in schools, and keeping student learning at the center of every decision.

Kristin has extensive experience supporting student achievement, expanding accelerated and differentiated learning opportunities, strengthening Career and Technical Education pathways, and implementing effective Professional Learning Communities. She is passionate about preparing every student to become a confident, resilient, and responsible member of their community.

A Colorado native, Kristin has deep roots in both the Front Range and the Western Slope, making the Steamboat Springs community feel like home. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, skiing, and exploring Colorado's outdoors.
