Healthy School Meals for All

Launched in the 2023-2024 school year, Colorado’s Healthy School Meals for All (HSMA) ensures FREE lunch through at least the end of December 2025* for Steamboat Springs School District students. Although lunch is currently free, we encourage all families to complete the Free and Reduced-Price Meals application for the 2025–26 school year in the meantime. These forms help us:

• Secure state and federal funding for other programs.
• Provide families with additional fee waivers and support where applicable.

*Will School Meals Stay Free?
School meals are free for all students through the end of 2025. To keep the HSMA program going beyond that, two statewide ballot measures—Propositions LL and MM—will go before voters this November. If approved, these measures would continue funding for free, healthy school meals for all students across Colorado. We encourage families to learn more about the impact of HSMA and participate in the election this fall.

How to Apply for Free and Reduced-Price School Meals

Families can apply for Free and Reduced-Price School Meals at any time throughout the school year. You can apply by either filling out a form or online via LINQ Connect. Click on School Services in the upper right-hand corner and select "Free and Reduced-Meal Application." If you would like to fill out the paper application, please return it to the front office of your child's school.

Family Information is Always Confidential

All household income information provided is strictly confidential and protected by law. Only one form is required for all children in the household. Immigration, migrant, citizenship or refugee status is not required when completing the form.
