Transportation

Listed below are items that are specifically and categorically excluded. Other items may be excluded at driver discretion. Please note: If you have an unusual item you want to bring to school for a
legitimate purpose, please check with Transportation Manager prior to transporting. The state law requires everything must be secured on a bus.

1. No animals or pets (dead or alive) or animal parts such as antlers.
2.  No weapons, including squirt guns.
3. No skis, ski poles, snowboards, hockey sticks.
4. No glass containers.
5. No large items that can’t be held on lap.
6. No explosives, including firecrackers, sparklers, etc.
7. No ice skates, unless carried within a case held on lap.
8. No sleds, only roll up sides.
9. No controlled substances. (Drugs, other than by RX, alcohol, etc.
10. No flammable liquids.
11. No selling items on bus.
12. No items that the driver feels are dangerous.
13. School projects are not always safe on the bus. If the driver deems unsafe or oversized the items will not be transported.
14. All basketballs, baseballs, softballs etc. need to be in a bag.
15. No laser pens.

13. Los proyectos escolares no siempre son seguros en el autobús. Si el conductor considera inseguro o sobredimensionado los artículos no serán transportados.

14. Todos los balones de baloncesto, pelotas de béisbol, pelotas de softball, etc. necesitan estar en una bolsa.

15. No plumas láser.

Getting on the Bus

1. Arrive at the bus stop at least five minutes before the bus is scheduled to arrive.
2. When the bus approaches, stand at least three giant steps (6 feet) away from the edge of the road and line up away from the street.
3.  Wait until the bus stops, the door opens, and the driver says that it is okay to enter before stepping towards the bus.
4. If you drop something near or under the bus, be sure to alert the bus driver. Never try to pick it up!
5. Move quickly to an open seat.
6. Once you are seated talk to your friends at a classroom volume voice and get ready for an awesome day at school!!!

Getting off the Bus

1. Be watching for your bus!
2. Make sure you have all of your stuff!
3. Wait for the bus driver to stop the bus before standing up.
4. When the bus is stopped walk quickly to the front of the bus.
5. Use the hand rail to exit.
6. If you have to cross the street take five giant steps (10 feet) in front of the bus.
7. Look at the bus driver, he or she will wave when it is safe to cross. Always look left, right, left to check for cars before crossing!!
