Curriculum , Academics, and Testing
The Steamboat Springs School District offers curriculum and academic programs designed to give students the skills they need to compete in college or the workplace. Our mission is to make sure that all students are learning in a safe environment and prepared to succeed in an ever-changing world and that our students have, and can apply, essential academic skills and knowledge in the various content areas.
If you have questions about curriculum or instruction programs at a district level you can contact Jay Hamric, Director of Teaching and Learning either via e-mail at email@example.com or by phone at 970-871-3194.
Questions that are building or level specific should be directed to building principals/lead teachers.
The Steamboat Springs School District offers many educational options from Elementary School through High School.
Some of our special programs include our alternative high school program through Yampa Valley High School, our AP program available at Steamboat Springs High School, and our Diplomas with emphasis program offered through Steamboat Springs High School.
District Assessment Calendar
The Steamboat Springs School District and the schools of the district conduct a variety of assessments throughout the year. Many of these assessments are mandated by state and federal law. The District assessment calendar outlines all the assessments given by the district which are beyond those given as part of regular grade level and course level instruction. Specific questions about the calendar and the assessments should be directed to the Director of Teaching and Learning and/or specific Building Principals and Assistant Principals.
