Help Us Grow Our Own: A New Way to Support Steamboat Educators

We’re excited to share an important new initiative: the “Grow Your Own” Routt County Educator Advancement and Recruitment Fund, created in partnership with the Yampa Valley Community Foundation and the other districts in Routt County.

This fund is about growing future educators from right here in our schools—people who already know and love this community. With your support, staff can advance their careers locally, strengthening retention and ensuring long-term stability for our students.

A generous anonymous donor has committed to match every dollar donated through August 31, up to $50,000. That means your gift—no matter the size—will go twice as far in building a strong, sustainable future for our schools.

As many educators prepare to retire over the next few years, this fund gives us the opportunity to train and retain passionate, homegrown talent—people who already know and love Routt County, and who commit to staying in our schools for at least three years.

This work pairs with ongoing efforts to improve affordable housing for staff—all part of our commitment to ensuring every child has access to excellent educators for years to come.
