Inter- and Intra-District Enrollment: Updated Timelines and Forms

The Steamboat Springs School District has updated its Inter- and Intra-District enrollment policies (Student Policies S-3 and S-4), effective March 5, 2026. These updates include revised decision timelines and updated application forms.

Inter-district students are those who attend a Steamboat Springs School District school but live outside district boundaries. Intra-district students are those who live within district boundaries but attend a school outside their assigned boundary school.

Families requesting Inter- or Intra-District enrollment must continue to submit a request each year.

Key Updates

Updated decision timelines

• First round of decisions: Around May 15. This round will primarily include returning students.

• Second round of decisions: By August 15 for any remaining applicants, including students who applied before the August 10 deadline.

Updated application forms

Application forms have been updated to include additional information, such as grade level, school year, previous school, and boundary school, to support improved data tracking and review.

Types of requests

• Inter-District Enrollment (S-4): For students who live outside the Steamboat Springs School District but wish to attend a district school.

• Intra-District Enrollment (S-3): For students who live within the district but wish to attend a school outside their assigned boundary.

Returning inter-district students must also complete the annual renewal form to request continued enrollment.

Important Deadlines

• May 10: Annual Update in Alma due for returning students

• May 15: First round of approval notifications

• August 10: Deadline to submit new applications

• August 15: Final decision notifications
