Katie Jacobs Selected as the 2023-2025 CASPA Western Area Director


Steamboat Springs, Colo. - June 23, 2023 - Katie Jacobs, the Human Resources Director for the Steamboat Springs School District (SSSD), was selected as the 2023-2025 Western Area Director for the Colorado Association of School Personnel Administrators (CASPA). 

Jacobs has been an active member of the organization for the past 10 years and was nominated by her peers in CASPA to serve in the position. 

“I am excited to be in this role and to have the opportunity to represent and be a voice for rural school districts on the Western Slope,” said Jacobs. “I look forward to working with this talented team.” 

CASPA is a department within the Colorado Association of School Executives (CASE). The mission of CASPA is to promote and advance public education in Colorado through the cooperative efforts of public school administrators responsible for administering Human Resource programs involving licensed and/or classified school employees.

CASPA hosts monthly meetings to provide a platform for members to collaborate on human resources issues and licensing needs and to provide support on recruiting efforts. According to Jacobs, CASPA is a source of support, connection, and professional development for school personnel administrators throughout the state. 

In this position, Jacobs will serve as a liaison between CASPA and Western area school districts, keeping both updated on developments and relaying feedback within the two entities. Jacobs will also help run the annual CASPA conference. 

Jacobs has 32 years of experience in human resources and has served as the Director of Human Resources for SSSD since 2013. Before that, she worked in human resources roles for Kiewit, Sheraton Steamboat Resort & Villas, Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation, and more. Jacobs is a Society for Human Resource Management-Senior Certified Professional and holds a Senior Professional in Human Resources® (SPHR) certification. She earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Oregon State University.
