Kindergarten and Preschool Registration Now Open for 2026–2027

Online registration for kindergarten and preschool is now open for the 2026–2027 school year. We look forward to welcoming new students and continuing to support our returning families.

We are currently encouraging families to register students eligible for preschool and kindergarten. This is also the time for:

• New families to register students in any grade
• Families with existing students to register a new child
• Returning students to re-enroll
• Current families to complete their annual update

Find Your Neighborhood School
Before beginning the registration process, families are encouraged to determine which school their child is eligible to attend using our district boundary map, available on our website.

Kindergarten Enrollment
Families with children eligible for kindergarten in fall 2026 can complete new student registration through ALMA Start. During the registration process, you will be asked to upload required documents, including a birth certificate, immunization record, and proof of residency.

Preschool Registration
Families with children who are 3 or 4 years old may register for preschool through the Steamboat Springs School District. The process varies slightly based on your child’s age. Please visit the Preschool page of our website for detailed instructions on how to register.

All Other New Students and Existing Student Annual Updates
In addition to kindergarten and preschool enrollment, new student registration is now open for all grade levels.

• New families enrolling in any grade level can complete registration through ALMA Start. Please check that you are enrolling for the correct school year. 
• Families who already have a student enrolled in SSSD and would like to register a new student should log in to their existing ALMA account. Please do not create a new account.
• Students who previously attended SSSD (within the last 3 years) and are now returning should contact their school before beginning the enrollment process.
• Current families are encouraged to log in to their ALMA accounts and complete their annual update to ensure student information is accurate for the upcoming school year. Please provide your most current proof of residence.

Matrícula en Kindergarten
Las familias con niños elegibles para kindergarten en el otoño de 2026 pueden completar los registros de nuevo estudiante por medio de ALMA Start. Durante el proceso de registro, se le pedirá descargar los documentos requeridos, incluyendo el certificado de nacimiento, registro de vacunas y prueba de residencia.

Registro a Preescolar
Las familias con niños entre 4 y 5 años de edad pueden registrarse a preescolar por medio del Distrito Escolar de Steamboat Springs. El proceso varía brevemente basado en la edad de su hijo. • Familias que ya hayan matriculado a su estudiante en SSSD y que les gustaría matricular a un estudiante nuevo deben ingresar a su cuenta existente de ALMA account. Please do not create a new account.
• Los estudiantes que hayan asistido anteriormente a SSSD (en los últimos 3 años) y ahora regresen deben ponerse en contacto con su escuela antes de comenzar el proceso de matriculación.
• Se recomienda a las familias actuales que inicien sesión en sus cuentas ALMA y completen su actualización anual para garantizar que la información de los estudiantes sea precisa para el próximo año escolar. Por favor, proporcione su prueba de residencia más reciente.
