Two 4-year seats on the Steamboat Springs School District Board of Education will be on the ballot this November 4, 2025 — and this is your chance to make a difference.

Our Board of Education represents all citizens in the district, ensuring every voice matters in shaping public education. As local policymakers, board members help set the vision for our schools, guide district priorities, and support staff in creating the best possible learning environment for our students.

What makes a great board member?

• An open mind and a willingness to learn

• A desire to serve children and the community

• A strong belief in the value of public schools

• A commitment to teamwork, open dialogue, and collaboration

• The ability to listen and communicate effectively

Who can run?
Candidates must:

• Live within the Steamboat Springs School District

• Be a registered voter for at least 12 consecutive months before the election

• Not have been convicted of a sexual offense against a child

• Run as a nonpartisan candidate (school board elections are nonpartisan)

How to get started:

• Pick up a candidate petition starting August 6, 2025

• Collect 50 signatures from registered voters in the district

• Submit your completed petition by August 28, 2025

The election will be held as part of the Routt County General Election on November 4, 2025, with new board members sworn in by the end of November.
